Fujita Medical Innovation Center Tokyo (FMiC) and Fujita Health University Haneda Clinic are located in the Haneda Innovation City, a large integrated complex directly connected to Tenkubashi Station, just one stop away from Haneda Airport Terminal 3 Station. Dr. Shigeto Shimmura is a board member of the Japan Regenerative Medicine Society, a board member of the Japan Cornea Society, a former board member of the Cornea Society in the United States, a certified regenerative medicine practitioner, a specialist in ophthalmology certified by the Japan Ophthalmological Society, and a specialist certified by the Japan Anti-Aging Society. With a surgical track record exceeding 1,000 corneal transplant surgeries, over 10,000 cataract surgeries, and more than 100 surgeries for ocular surface reconstruction, he has also taken on numerous challenging cataract surgeries referred from other facilities. He is currently conducting research in regenerative medicine using iPS cells and mesenchymal stem cells. He continues to provide optimal solutions to patients by leveraging his accumulated experience and cutting-edge medical research.

Fujita Health Univeristy(FHU) was established in September 1964. It has since evolved into a comprehensive medical university with two graduate schools, the Graduate School of Medicine and the Graduate School of Health Sciences, as well as three undergraduate schools, the School of Medicine, the School of Medical Sciences, and the School of Health Sciences. FHU Hospital, boasting the largest number of beds in a single hospital in Japan with 1,376 beds, is one of its key components. Fujita Academy also operates educational hospitals including Bantane Hospital in Aichi Prefecture, Okazaki Medical Center in Aichi Prefecture, and Nanakuri Memorial Hospital in Mie Prefecture, with a focus on cultivating highly skilled medical professionals.
In terms of research, FHU has established five research centers specializing in the fields of psychiatric and neurological pathologies, cancer genomics medicine, regenerative medicine, infectious diseases, and medical sciences on campus. These centers conduct research that contribute to the advancement of medical science, including the development of new treatment methods and drug discovery.
In February 2020, upon the government's request, FHU accepted 128 passengers and their families who tested positive for COVID-19 on the cruise ship "Diamond Princess" at the Okazaki Medical Center, which had not yet opened for patients. FHU has continued to engage with societal challenges, such as conducting PCR testing and participating in large-scale vaccine administration efforts in Aichi Prefecture. Additionally, the university is preparing to address major disasters, such as the Nankai Trough and earthquakes, as part of its ongoing commitment to addressing pressing issues in society.
